Caleb Cheavens, LPC

We all do our best, and sometimes it seems like our best isn't enough. For me, therapy is a space where we can soften our approach toward ourselves, where we can learn to notice harsh self-talk and replace it with hope and meaning.

I collaborate with clients using a mindfulness-based approach to seek new ways of being when old habits have outlived their useful life. Whereas holding yourself to a high standard may have served you well in the past, you might have noticed that in the present moment it isn't achieving the same end. And it can be difficult to imagine a way forward when our most powerful tools just aren't working.

This is what I help with. You might feel discouraged or trapped as you struggle against unwanted thoughts or feelings. They may stay with you despite your efforts to control or eliminate them. But if you are willing to try something different, which might feel awkward or uncomfortable at first, then you are capable of change.
