is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years of full time clinical experience. Ruthie began her career as a school psychologist and psychotherapist after graduating from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Her current psychology practice covers a variety of clinical isssues and needs. She has worked extensively with children and young people through college age and into adulthood. Her primary interest is helping clients reach for their fullest functioning through self-knowledge and the ability to make fulfilling life choices. Ruthie is also skilled in psychoneurological testing for assessment of memory, intelligence, and personality. Her current focus is on individual therapy.
Ruthie's therapy style includes building a therapeutic client relationship that encourages the emergence of an intuitive, productive self. While getting to know what your most difficult issues are she focuses on positive strategies designed for your personal situation and your own level of personal growth. She uses cognitive, behavioral, and insight approaches to therapy. She sometimes uses pet therapy and uses art therapy as an adjunct technique for promoting self-awareness and increased self-expression.
She is author of "The Fairy's Tale: Psychological Transformations through Cancer" (see image) which is a 3-part narrative of the
cancer experience told through the language of fairy tale, survivor attributes, and patient perspective. Anyone grappling with cancer
